water thermometer?

I went swimming along the shoreline again and it's FULL of tons of organic stuff that's been whipped up from strong ocean currents--floating coconuts, huge pieces of plants ripped off the bottom, zillions of smaller plants. It's so thick, you can't even dodge it. I suppose these currents are the culprits for the continued cold waters... Forced myself to swim--have to for exercise. A long sleeved nylon shirt helped. Does anyone know where I can get a water thermometer that I can carry w/ me when I swim? If not this small, one that I can just use from shore?
