It is important to remember that each country defines middle class in different ways. In 1994 when I did some work in Vietnam, an upper middleclass wage was approximately $2 US per day, but in terms of housing, healthcare, goods and services that could buy, it translated to almost $80,000 in US salary. What is the most interesting about this article is that it is written by educated Mexicans expressing their opinions in a US forum. We need lots more of that. |
