start verbose We finish the walk and get involved in conversation. Suddenly I remember the ISS orbit over (I love those words). I ask the time, it is 9:12, I am determined to see the ISS so I set my cell phone alarm for 9:27 (the time I remember from my research and post). Again we get involved in conversation. Suddenly my friend say's "there it is". Sure enough there is the ISS going by right in front of us. I can see it without turning around, or doing any kind of contortion at all, it is right there in front of us! If I were to order a orbit over of the ISS it would have been right where it was. It was not as bright as last night, but considering the hazy sky.. mostly due to the burning season, it was still very easily seen. We talked about the people living their lives in that moving star, how incredible that is, and how wonderful that we knew to look for it, knew what it was, and when. A couple of first for me there. So.. it goes quickly across the sky, about 3/4 of the way through the pass my Fing cell alarm goes off. S__t, if it weren't for my friend I would have been looking in the North sky for something that was quickly disappearing in the Southern sky. Great day! End a revolution, start a revolution. I decided last night that the new day no longer starts with the dawn, it starts when the sun disappears on the horizon. Life is good. close verbose |
