bumps in the water

Last Thurs while swimming the shoreline, only out, a good little distance out, I was 'bumped' two different times by a large, smooth, dark fish. Once on my way north and again on my return. After the second time, I got a tad nervous. I only 'saw' the first one. And this not very well, as I'm not wearing my contacts, waiting for laser surgery, so can't see too well now. Hugo Brambila says sharks have skin like sandpaper and this definitely was smooth. I spoke to a fisherman type man here who suggested some types of fish it could have been. But, it seems most likely that it was a dolphin. June says she just saw a group of them not far out. I considered whether to swim again yesterday and did. I went my usual route, to the Rocks. But, only went about 3/4 of the way. Between not seeing well now and being 'bumped', I felt a tad insecure. Any thoughts on what it might have been?
