I agree. This poor victim would probably, almost certainly, be alive today if he had stopped and relinquished the vehicle. Bitter pill to swallow that it might have been, he probably would have been in a new car/truck within a week or two. I'd like to know the veracity of the rumor that Federal police were there and ran from the scene instead of trying to help. If this is the case, it should be reported and there should be a police and a Federal government explanation of protocol.
Out of morbid curiosity, I would like to have it verified that these hijackers are also taking personal possessions, eg, passports, wallets, etc. Are they stripping their victims of their identification, FM2/3's passports, credit cards, drivers licenses, etc? If they generally aren't, then recovering one's life would be a lot less inconvenient. I suspect, however, that they are taking it all. Ciao
