That's an interesting and astute way to look at that aspect of this culture Dave, and I'm sure there is no sarcasm whatsoever in your comment. I was thinking when I initially saw this thread, that back in the US of A, when I was a very young child, there was a similar attitude around garbage. What seemed to change things was an advertising campaign directed at children, Don't be a litterbug! It worked, as the children taught adults that it was the wrong thing to be indiscriminately throwing trash around. So perhaps along with helping to pick up garbage that some gracious folks here are doing as a service to the community, maybe help in starting some type of campaign to bring a greater light on the situation would help? I don't know if this is tampering with the culture, although our mere presence, living here has already affected the Mexican culture to some extent. Why not rather than just support the trashing of this community by complete acceptance of that attitude you so clearly highlight Dave, how about getting actively involved in helping to promote positive change. I'm not sure how it could work to go forward with something like this, I would think it would be something the local govt. would need to get behind. Any constructive thoughts?
