Hi Deanna, I did a bit of work researching why the rain we had did not show up on the satellite. I did a Google search using Satellite did not show rain This article was about detecting rain at night but I think the statement would apply to daytime as well "Passive microwave (MW) rain algorithms have poor performance in detecting warm rain over land." So, the warmer the rain the less it shows up. ---- Edit - I think you may have better luck seeing that kind of rain with the water vapor loop http://www.goes.noaa.gov/HURRLOOPS/hpwv.html -------------- No, I don't have a measuring cup. I do have different size shot glasses so its only Mexico accurate, which works for me...since I am in Mexico. ---- Its raining again now, the people on the beach hardly give a hoot. Gotta love this country. |
