Good for you, Daniel! I'm sure there will be many opinions expressed about your decision - both favorable and unfavorable - but it's your board and your decision. My only concern is the part about blocking postings from people who live nearby (Barra, Melaque, Cuastacomate) - many of their postings are relevant and valuable to residents of La Manz. The other fuzzy rule is how to determine who's a resident, part-time resident, renter who spends a lot of time here, etc. etc. I wouldn't want to be the one determining who might fit into one of those categories. Identifying posters by name is a good start, but I don't envy you the other part of it. One suggestion: many of the sites I use have an interactive feature which you might want to consider. Any posting may be flagged as "offensive" at which point the moderator makes a decision about whether or not to remove it and/or block the poster from further entries (a "three-stike"rule might work). I think a lot of people are just tired of the personal opinions (well-meaning as they may be) being posted ad nauseum and would like a way to express that - the flagging option might solve the problem. Whatever happens, we're all grateful to have this board - it's been a source of valuable information for many years now and something an isolated little town like La Manzanilla desperately needs.
