I remember the small village almost totally isolated with a dirt road to melaque,no electricity or running water. But there was a gigantic black telephone at the Castillos home.

Half of the man where fisherman's and the rest farmers, clearing patches of forest with machetes to grow corn and some other vegetables bananas, mangoes, and coconuts.

The fisherman's like el senor Radillo, caquique and the legendary Mambolo who almost last a leg to a shark at the beach where the waves brake while he was cleaning fish, just to name a few of them.

They used to go fishing on canoes and paddles made right at the edge of the beach under the giant tamarindo tree which was where the cooperativa is this days.

The arrollo running through town with pristine and clear water where people used to catch chacales(fresh water shrimp)and las mamas to do the daily laundry.

The old escuela made out of big bricks and painted with lime and the sound of all the kids playing on the patio during recess and Don Jose Martines selling guayabas out of his trees, cinco centavos each, "pay and pick".

There was no jardin it was a big empty lot on front of the school where we used to play soccer and in the summer the Gipsy's set up a camp and show the black and white movies, and the other side was la casa de Pedro Murillo aka "piedritas" made entirely out of palapas and palos from the jungle.

I am so glad to share this precious memories with all of you, and for that I thank you Daniel
