Early Morning Rain.....

...a small red blob offshore and to the south of
La Manz this morning warned that we might get a little bit of rain and that's exactly what we got - a little thunder, lighting and .05/in. of rain. This overcast should burn off today unless something else moves up the coast, so I expect another hot, sunny September day. At noon, the temp is 82F/27.8C with 81% humidity.

I see men with wheelbarrows trying to shovel up all the mud around the plaza - a daunting and never-ending task now that those streets are paved and runoff from the mountain pours down the hill during every rainstorm, collects all the dirt in it's path, then deposits it directly in front of the church and along the side streets. It's better
than having every street filled with mud but we'll
need a lot more infrastructure if we're ever going to stop flooding in La Manzanilla. And I forgot to mention the bubbling fountains of water coming up out of the many manholes from our never-hooked-up sewer system. Sure wish someone had an answer to that dilemma. Those fountains continue to bubble for days after the rain has stopped. Nice for street dogs though.
