On Tuesday, Oct 5, we left El Rebalsito at 6 AM, stopping in La Manzanilla and Melaque to pick up more people. I think there were about 30 of us all together. Stopped for breakfast in Autlan, another pit stop outside of Guadalajara and arrived in Temacapulin at about 5
PM. Others of our group had arrived the day before and had pozole, grilled fish and hot tortillas waiting for us.

Several of us were interviewed by various media and by a representative of the Human Rights Commission. Our presentation, which
had originally been planned for 5 pm, had been moved to 7 pm, but it was after 8 by the time they were ready for us.

I sat in on a very interesting workshop that had representatives from all the Latin American countries; someone from each country spoke
about how they were getting the word out (about their various issues, which mostly had to do with dams and hydroelectric power, which was basically what the event was about), what events they had planned, and how they would stay in touch with each other.

When that ended, it was our turn. Salvador Magaña used a slideshow to add to his verbal presentation. We were very warmly received, and felt lots of support from the people there.
Afterwards there was a wild dance performance put on by a group from Tonala, Jalisco. I had to include photos of that because it was quite
amazing. We left at midnight, arrived back in Rebalsito at 10 AM. It was a grueling trip, but well worth it and we were able to get the
word out to a large and varied group of people.

Unfortunately the road and beach are still closed. The president of La Huerta, a judge from Autlan and a representative of PROFEPA (federal
environmental agency) have all been denied access.
