I agree, Linda. I pull plastic bottles out of garbage cans on my litter patrol rounds, and drop them into recycling bins. The dumpster on the main road near the beach often has a lot of plastic, and it is situated right next to a recycling bin. And often, that recycling bin (and others) usually contains non-recyclables, which I also clean out.

My litter grabber is a handy dandy gadget!

It seems that recycling bins in the neighborhoods are cleaner of contaminants than those near the beach. I deduce that the local population is more cognizant than tourists as to what is appropriate for recycling.

Also, I think the recycling bin signage could use refreshing, because they are very faded and not easy to read. And, when recycling bins are emptied, the signage is often placed on the wrong side and not visible. I twist the bin so the sign is visible if I pass by a bin before it is loaded down.

It ain't easy being green!
