Fall weather, P.V. road conditions

Fall is finally here! Humidity levels have been
way down - mostly in the 60% range, so early mornings and evenings are delightfully cool. This morning is a little different - at 11:30 AM the temp is only 79F but humidity is up to 71%. Don't see any storms on the horizon, so the rainy season is probably over.

Spent the day shopping in P.V. yesterday and want to warn anyone going that way to allow another 20 to 30 minutes driving time because of really terrible road conditions. From about the halfway point north, there are serious potholes and sections of road so rough that slowing way down is the only way to protect your car's undercarriage. Some of the potholes are the deepest I've ever seen - on both sides of the road so it's almost impossible to navigate around them - and none are marked. There's some road resurfacing going on (more slowdowns) and a few road crews are out filling in potholes with gravel. The depth of the potholes as you come into P.V. are pretty unbelievable. It was a very long, slow drive yesterday, only made bearable by the beauty of the scenery and fun companions.

The worst part was that I missed Daniel's birthday
messages - they really say it all, Daniel. You're are one of a kind and an important part of the La Manzanilla community. I can't think of a more valuable offering than this bulletin board. Mokita's last entry made me tear up, as usual - just think what we'd have missed without a place for him to share his love of La Manzanilla with us over the years.

A belated Feliz Cumpleanos, and many many more, Senor!
