Tim underestimates the dynamic interplay between bay, dunes, mangrove, aquifer, surface waters, expropriation, intrusion, and outright violation. I assure you the aquifer is severely contaminated, and would take many years of natural flushing by fresh waters, combined with carefully regulated expropriation to cleanse. Wishful thinking and denial will not protect your health. Test the water for yourself. I promise you'll find alarming levels of microbial contamination, especially more so during the dry season. A good carbon filter on your supply line is cheap protection. And put a sediment filter before it.
