I've always done my own FM3/FM2 (and passport) photos. If you want to try it, Vicki is right: no glasses, hair must be pulled off ears. I've also heard no smiles! For the new card-type FM3 and FM2 that everyone is getting now, they need to be "infantil" size, which is 2.5 x 3.0cm, black & white against a white background, front and right side shots. Color might be acceptable, all I know is that but mine were B&W and they took them. Try to get the height of the face (chin to hairline) to be about 1.5cm.

Quantities: when I submitted my application for FM2 renewal just a few days ago, they asked for 3 front and 2 right side (don't ask me what they do with all these: the card only uses 1 front). However, I have heard other reports of numbers as high as 4 front and 4 side. I alway bring extras just in case.

I believe we'll need more photos every year for these new cards, but maybe fewer than the first time??
