The people in town asked the diputados to accompany them in this action. People are desperate and desperate times call for desperate actions. Now for the first time we're fnally getting national coverage from all media sources (tv, radio, newspapers, internet).

If a regular person were to try to block a state road, the police would be there pronto. Villalobos has no business blocking a state road or access to the federal zone of the beach.

Of course we'd rather have a peaceful resolution, but it's been almost 3 months and none has been forthcoming. Now the governor has finally agreed to have a dialog with the diputados, but they say they'll only dialog with him if he opens the road and beach first.

Imagine people who normally live hand to mouth, not being able to work for almost 3 months. Where can they get money to buy food, to pay their electric bills, to buy medicines for themselves or their children as most everyone in town is sick with colds, coughs, fevers, aching bones, etc. People are having a hard time sleeping. I can't convey in words how stressful the situation is.
