The first year that the new sewer pipes were installed the manholes gushed rain water. Now they gush rain water and poo during the rainy season. I think the people's waste that have hooked up to the system is the obvious problem, but has anyone considered why the rain water is in the sewer pipes? How about all those lateral lines that go to the houses and restaurants that haven't connected? Shouldn't they be capped? I could be wrong but is this were the rain water is entering? Also, just glad people are talking about this, so hopefully no one else will hook up. But let DO something. Just capping your line to the street could be a start if we can't get something done before the next rain. |
