Guadalajara Warden Message On October 28, 2010, around 5:00 pm, two fragmentation grenades were thrown at a private residence in Zapopan, a municipality adjacent to Guadalajara, Jalisco. The attack occurred a block away from the Zapopan Basilica, a popular church in a tourist area frequented by Americans, and a few blocks from the municipal offices of Zapopan. Five people were hurt, including two children. Media reports that the explosions also caused damages to a few cars and nearby houses. This is the first grenade attack in the Guadalajara metropolitan area in daylight hours and in a tourist area frequented by Americans.
