They're part of a celebration to welcome the new priest - Padre Fabio. Padre Lugo is departing for a parish near Tomatlan. The parade started near the entrance to town and, proceeded by aztec-costumed dancers and a brass band, wove through town, ending up in front of the church where banners and more rockets were shot off to welcome him to La Manzanilla. Mass is in progress now. Hard to tell what's next, but some big speakers have been set up near the jardine. |
