Yes, Shaw Direct is fully aware that Canadians (and some Americans) are using their service down here, and happy to get the business.

The fellow from Melaque (who speaks no English, it seems), is called Gerardo. (Thanks Valerie)

He says that you can use the small dish. but you won't get all the channels, particularly the French ones.

He says the 1 meter dishes are around 4,500 pesos, but you can find them for cheaper around Chapala and Ajijic.

Guess I will just try the small dish and see what happens..... I used to see people with RV's with these dishes, and they seemed to work fine.
