We just had the fontanero here, looking at the electric meter. Turns out, when we turned off the main to the house, the meter wheel keeps on turning! And turning at a good rate. There are no other connections. The fontanero says he has seen this problem before - the wires going to the meter have corroded somewhere and are causing a "puente", a bridge or short circuit, making the meter run constantly. All the rain and salt winds from the summer cause this. |
