I was asked by Ricardo Oregon ( the engineeer who has been doing the organic gardening courses around here) to let people know there is a FREE COURSE in building with bamboo In Cihuatlan at the Casa de Cultura tomorrow, Wednesday the 17th at 11:00 am. This is a course sponsored by the government and is open to anyone who wants to go. Ricard has a passion for teaching and is a wealth of information. He has been instrumental in getting many big papaya and banana producers to go off chemicals and go organic. He also has received a call from a big corn producer in El Grullo who is now going organic. They are learning how to make their own fertilizer and compost and control insects organically. I have some of his famous fertilizer for sale here as well if anyone wants some. 4 pesos/kg or 300 for a big costale. This is called MICROBIOTA - it contains compost, worm castings, bocachi (mixture of specialized soil bacteria) powdered rock and microorganisms. 1 gram of this humus contains aprox, 2 billion live microorganisms, as well as humic and fulvic acids and hormones.
