I am supporting my friends, period. People I have come to care about who live there, full time and are living this hell.

I am a writer, so writing is the best support I can offer.

I am poor, so helping get contributions from others is the best I can offer.

I am an activist, so I do research for unanswered questions, and ask for more information, again the best I can do.

You can try and make this about me, but it is not. Shall every reporter in the world not-report because they are not physically in the situation?

Is this the best you have to offer the situation, trying to insult me personally?

No, I do not live in Mexico. I live in Michigan. I am a Liberal writer, activist and radio show host, My husband has stage 4 lung cancer. I have an 11 year old son. I'll be 48 in February. I'm overweight, undereducated and cover my grays. I work 2 jobs to support my family single-handedly. I love expensive red wines, and cheap beer. White wine is an abomination to my palate. I'm Irish, Polish and Ojibwa, from a long line of peasants. I play a Taylor 12 string guitar. I have been dancing with foreclosure for a couple years. I think cheese and chocolate, and perhaps hollandaise sauces are nectars of the gods. I spend every moment I can free in the water, or on it. I raised wolves for years. I love gardening and books. I have a horrifying penchant for perverted humor, and the mouth of a factory worker at times.

I can be scathingly sarcastic one moment, and completely forgiving and sweet the next.

I cannot abide seeing my fellow human beings in pain anywhere.
