solar hot water

I'm no expert, but a number of local residents have kept their hot water heaters but placed usually around 20 to 50 meters of 1 1/2" or 2" diameter black plastic/PVC flexible pipe on their roofs between their cold-water input and the heater. Often the result is that the hot water heater never comes on. Solar on a budget...and effective. Of course, you have to have the roof area without tejas, but many of us who have tejas also have a flat roof area (usually for the tinaco). Check it out. Buena suerte!
