Up her at Alisons house we have a solar hot water heater . The purchase and installations were organized by Paul and Javier (JPConstruction) . It is simply a tank , about 30 gallons with eight vacuum tubes , about 2 1/2" diameter by 8 " long, that fit into gasketted holes in one side of the tank. It seems very efficient , there is always enough hot water for two to shower. We didn't run hot water to the kitchen sink , so it doesn't get turned on unnecessarily . Cost varies. I heard of some tanks rusting. Ours is'nt old enough. Be very carefull making arrangments to transport the tubes. They can get broken. That's all I know about them.
