Casa Luz at 75 Boca del Rio will offer the film "Bye Bye Blues" on December 28 at 7:30. The filmmaker Anne Wheeler will be present to introduce it. Here is a brief synopsis of the film: Critically acclaimed feature drama about a mother of two, Daisy, who returns home to Alberta at the start of World War II. There she learns her husband has been captured by the Japanese. To make ends meet, she joins a dance band as a singer, only to be faced with a multitude of personal dilemmas: a new life and a romance with a talented trombone player. But just when Daisy is enjoying the fruits of her independence, two crucial events occur: the ensemble is offered a national radio contract and her husband suddenly returns home. Daisy must decide which is more important: her burgeoning career or her responsibilities as a wife and mother. This event is a fundraiser for a local family Belen and Erick Gaviņo, whose infant was born without a femur bone.
