Hi,

I've been informed that Rick and I are remiss in posting information about the community garden so here is some news.

The garden is doing great this year! We've had the benefit of 2 organic gardening classes. The soil this year is much better and currently we are feasting on cucumbers, arugula, basil, cilantro, lettuce and lots of other herbs. Tomatoes, squash and beans are looking very promising this year. Last year the soil had some kind of plague, but we seemed to have fought if off with organic pest control.

Our issue this year is the 3 foot long orange and black iguana who has a taste for leafy greens. Some fencing around each pot has foiled him for now.

We have a great mulch pile going, earthworms making castings and putting off some powerful fertilizer and plenty of goat manure!

We have a nice mix of community members involved and we have 1 or 2 plots available for those of you who will be here for 2-3 months or if you have neighbors who might like a plot.

The garden is located on the corner of Manglares and Concha Molida, please stop by and see it anytime!Photos here
