Julie, my regrets and wishes for a speedy and full recovery. I am so pleased to hear this good report about our new ambulance and emergency service. Thank you so much for letting us all know. I myself have had several conversations with Armando, the Comandante, and his colleagues. They are all dedicated volunteers who live in La Manzanilla. We are sponsoring a fundraiser for them on January 9th here at Casa Luz. We will be showing the film "The War Between Us". It's an anti-war, evolution of tolerance story about two families thrown together during World War Two...one a poor uneducated miner's family and the other a sophisticated North American Japanese family who are moved away from the pacific coast in 1942. Anne Wheeler, the film-maker will be there to introduce the film and to answer questions afterward. Please come and support this very important service to our community - our local emergency response and Ambulance Service. We will ask 100 pesos per person. The film starts at 7:30. |
