We are fortunate here in La Manzanilla to have an ambulance service, however minimally it may be equipped, operated by dedicated workers, available 24/7. Since any or all of us may require this service at some point, you will undoubtedly agree that it makes good sense to support it. With that in mind several fund raisers are being organized, in addition to the film being shown at Casa Luz next Sunday night, to help finance the purchase of an additional, fuel efficient 4WD vehicle which would enable access to places inaccessible by the present ambulance, and could also be used as a fire truck. The next benifit is HEALING HANDS DAY: February 5th 10am ---2pm during which time some of our residents have kindly offered to provide forty minute sessions of massage, reflexology, reiki, healing touch and manicures at a donation-cost of 150pesos per session. No appointment necessary, just show up at Casa Luz. If you cannot attend and wish to make a donation, please watch the message board for donation box location. St PATRICK's DAY---March 17th (16th in La Manz!) No better way to celebrate that auspicious occasion than with a traditional ceilidhe; music, song, poetry, step-dancing and of course good Irish food, including authentic Irish Stew and soda bread, and (hopefully!) Guinness---great craic altogether! Myranda and Michael of the Celtic Duo will be among those who entertain that night. More information to follow, meanwhile mark March 16th on your calendars!
