Swam to the Rocks again today ab 4:30 PM. Best yet this winter. Water temps 75.2 at the Rocks to 77.F near shore. The waves came in larger rolls, the most fun--ab 2-3 ft. But, they came in irregular rhythms and heights, so concentration was needed. Small troughs between waves, sporadic distances apart: It was great. Once I looked up and a sailboat was bearing down on me. You can figure they don't see you. I pressed forward trying to pull ahead of the path, but realizing they turn on whim. So, I readied for a dive--just in case. I pulled ahead and it continued on it's path. Then, a fisherman in his lancha cut close by. He saw me. The rule in swimming in the ocean: never get tired. Swim w/ the least effort while propelling the furthest distance. Every day the water seems to be improving. Good tines ahead... |
