This just out. Four Canadian tourists who became a little lost during a trip to a "remote" waterfall outside the little community of La Manzanilla in Mexico wandered into a field where a local farmer, Isreal, was tending his cattle.
Isreal dropped what he was doing, almost forgetting to secure the gate to keep in his cows, and actually took the four tourists all the way to the waterfall, a trip of about 40 minutes. On the way, the four tourists (of whom I was delighted to be one, met two other groups of tourists on their way out. We learned from them that Isreal had done exactly the same for them! He also stopped on the way to show us how to crack open the nuts from which coconut oil is pressed. He was clearly delighted to share this beautiful place with visitors. While at the waterfall, the four visitors shared the space with a lovely Mexican family who caught and cooked fish on an open fire for their children and talked freely with the Canadians about the area. Thanks Isreal, thanks unknown family and thanks Mexico for yet another in a whole list of heartwarming experiences that you facilitate for us.
