New Year's Eve Airborne Floating Lanterns

We were on the playa New Year's Eve and were treated to a lovely sight - lanterns floating up into the sky - magical! They appeared around midnight from several locations along the playa - near Fiesta Mexicana Restaurant and from further north along the playa as well as from La Boca. Muchas gracias to the romantic folks who released them. Hopefully this may become a New Year's tradition here? We haven't been able to find out anything about them and would really appreciate any information regarding how they are made or where they can be purchased or whom we could contact. We would love to be able to do it ourselves. |
