Invitation to Expo Event of Our Wixarica (Huichol) Culture Place: Main Plaza, La Manzanilla Date: Saturday 12, Sunday 13, Monday 14 February 2011 With this flyer we invite everybody in the county of La Huerta to the "Expo Evento of the Huichol Culture" where art will be for sale and there will be presentations of Huichol Ceremonies and traditional and regional music. Also we will have workshops to learn traditional medicine and herbalism, the preparation of medicines, making bead art, Huichol style cross-point embroidery, the making of a traditional fermented corn drink called tequino and food will be prepared and given from a traditional "kitchen". There will be explanations of Huichol "Cosmovision" and a peek at their language. Shamanic healings, "cleanings" and counseling will be available. PROGRAM Saturday 12 Feb 2011 8:30AM Salute to Father Sun and the 4 cardinal points 9:30AM Lighting of Sacred Fire of the Event 10:30M Inauguration of the Event 12-2PM Workshops: Art with Alma Luz Bautista Parra Preparation of Tequino with Zenaida Lopez Parra Herbalism with Julio Parra Parra 6:00PM Ceremony of the Drum with regional and traditional music.
