Today swimming near the cliff on the southern end of the bay (by town) I was stung on the arm just as I was ready to begin a long swim. It developed a rash and welts - gone in about an hour. I enjoy distance swimming but not if I'm distracted by the possibility of jellyfish. How common are they? This was only my second day in the water.
