Missing Bicycle

OK - This is a Stupid Gringo story - but it happened.

On Saturday afternoon, a worker from a crew working at our house showed up at the gate yelling and screaming. We both had bad colds, and were woken up.

When we went to the gate, we recognized the worker, "Carlos", a short thin guy with long dirty hair, and baseball hat. He was quite upset, and in Spanish, he said it was an emergency, that his wife had been bitten and needed anti-venom, and he could find no one to lend him the 200 pesos.

We tried to phone our builder to check, but he didn't answer. In the end, we gave him the 200 pesos, and even lent him our spare bicycle.

It turned out that this worker was only hired for the day, and our builder did not know him.

Now we are hoping someone will spot our bicycle and help us get it back. It is brown, an old rusty bike with the name "VELOCI" printed in script on the top bar, with a red milk crate carrier on the back, and a unique seat, without the center part that protrudes to the front on most seats.

If you see it, let us know.... Stupid gringos we are!
