11:30 on a freezing January Saltillo night pulled in for coffee and gas . Poof lighting goes out. Stumbling around under the hood for 20 minutes unable to diagnose the problem. A truck driver asks if he can help. Diagnoses a broken dimmer switch, no parts available, spends 30 minutes wiring (his wire ) around the dimmer , only have low beam but I have lights and head off towards La Manz. The fix works for 10 weeks until returning to the states for new parts. Tried to buy coffee and his dinner , no , has had his. Try to give him 30 bucks , no won`t take it . Just a warm handshake was all I could repay. Drove off down the road knowing I was heading in the right direction towards the beautiful people. |
