30 years ago - our first trip to Mexico - 2 tires from our Motor home blew. New tires this size nowhere to be purchased. (They had told us in the States that we could buy tires in Mexico a lot cheaper...) We made it to the airport of Tepic, where my husband wanted to fly back to the States to purchase the tires.
There we met a young Mexican pilot who hooked us up on some wires from a lamp post and told us, that his friend is flying into the States and can bring the tires.
We gave him the money and off he went. We felt foolish until he knocked at our door the next morning and ask me if I know about Mexican cooking.
He took me to the nearest market, bought tortillas, beans and the works and cooked a great meal in our Motor home for us.
The afternoon came and with it his friend and our new tires. We offered some money which has been declined. We got new tires and new friends...
