I wish to express my thanks for the capture of the thieves - good job! I do wonder though if they are responsible for all the thefts - it seems to me that some thefts were opportunistic and some were methodically planned out well in advance - ie bolt cutters, escape routes, tracking of individual's absences from their homes - just wondering if there might be other older, more professional thieves involved as well ..... Also, I'm not really in favour of vigilante "lessons" - and I hope there wasn't undue brutality - I totally get the impulse for revenge and, at the same time, can't help thinking these were wayward teens who did not employ physical violence in their crimes - yes, I realize the invasion of one's home is awful but as far as I can ascertain, no one was physically harmed. Therefore, I agree with D that a "restorative justice" approach might help these young men more than 5 years in prison where it's quite likely they'll meet up with more hardened criminals and become part of the increasingly violent crime scene. I realize we, the part time residents, don't have any say in the Mexican justice system, I am simply adding my Canadian thoughts to contemplate.....
