Black water is from toilets and grey water is kitchen and bath. Black water stinks of hydrogen sulfide and leaves a black skerf or "ash" trace. Black water in Mexico usually does not have traces of paper in it because the paper goes into the basket, not the toilet. Most plumbing in Mexico combines the two, black and grey, and sends them to a fosa, the sewer, or simply to the street, as in the case of #212 Maria Asuncion. The fluorescent dye tabs, flushed through the toilet, help to trace the source of seeping sewer waters.
