Guadalajara to La Manz

I am flying into Guadalajara with a La Manzanilla destination. I arrive in Guadalajara at 1:00pm. Does anyone have info about the public transportation system from Guadalajara to Melaque? In case I have to stay over in Guadalajara for the night, any suggestions for a modest hotel near the new bus station? Really, any wisdom about the best way to do this will be most appreciated. Thank you.
