Wow! Someone from the Big Island asking about weather here in La Manz. You've definitely come to the right place - my husband and I lived in Kona for 33 years and have lived here for the last 10 years. Summer weather here is about the same as in Kailua-Kona, but with higher humidity. Temperatures rarely exceed 90 degrees but we have much more more dramatic storms with thunder, lightning and an occasional hurricane passing by offshore. Very few gringos are here all summer, which I've never understood - we still think it's the best time of the year. It does help to have a/c in your bedroom at night though. You would probably do very well earning a living here during the winter months, but "the season" really only runs from the middle of December through March - and it sometimes ends earlier, depending on when Easter occurs each year. People flee "Semana Santa" because of the crowds - a very festive crowd, however, full of Mexican families who enjoy the beach more than any other group on earth. It can really be fun. You can click on my name above and send e-mail if you want to know more. Aloha! P.S: Where on the Big Island do you live? |
