When George Bush went to the UN Security Council asking for help to go to war with Iraq (for its alleged weapons of mass destruction), Mexico was one of the non-permanent members of the council and Jorge Casteneda, Mexico's foreign minister at the time agreed to help Bush. Mexicans were outraged. A few days later he was booted out of office.

Several years ago I had a ciber in my house and one day one of the supervisors of the ejercito that had the reten just north of the Tenacatita turnoff) came to use the computers (along with 4 heavily armed companeros, but that's another story). He was telling me about the benefits of being in the army in Mexico and he said that unlike the US, Mexico can't wage war against another country, it can only defend itself. Nonetheless, Mexico seems to do a good job of waging war against her own people).
