You sure are right Deanna. Swimming pools and bath tubs(not too many of those) are good for water storage. Candles, batteries, drinking water, propane tank filled,your freezer compartment should be full of either food or ice to keep it cold for as long as possible. Yogurt containers of ice is a great way to save what food you do have in there. A few bottles of good wine are always nice to have on hand.
In the 13 years we have been in La Manz this is the first storm that the computer models showed it coming right for us except for the one that missed us and hammered San Blas in I believe 2004.
I talked to Carlos and he said the last hurricane of any significance was about 20 years ago. The biggest problem was the rise of the river due to the intense rains. WInds are a real threat, but 8 inches of rain in a very short period of time is really a drag.
Let's keep our fingers crossed that Beatriz will turn to the West sooner than later.
