I was very confused until I saw that video - I think I'm in
love. His website tells a great story about why he's doing it:

I woke up at 4 AM, amazed that there was no rain, wind
or any indication at all that a hurricane was on it's way. I
suspected that it had already come ashore south of us,
but as of 7AM, the coordinates given by CNA were 19N/
105W - virtually on top of us. Still just a drizzle. Still
confused. I think we just have to wait and see what
develops. This is perfect for now, cool, with light rain, no
wind and the power is still on - which is doubly amazing if
Manzanillo got hit hard as it went by.

And now I have no more guilt about moving to Merida -
you can all just tune in to 28storms.com - !!
