This is actual space-based radar-measured rainfall rates, not just infrared cloud-top temperatures. It's the best radar we've got since the closest Mexican weather radar site at Cuyutlan has been broken since last summer.

It's not quite real-time since this satellite is in a low orbit, so they have to stitch together data from several orbits to give a complete image.

The 7-day accumulation seems to show over 8" near the Manzanillo coastline.

Sorry we're missing out on all the interesting weather; save some for us when we return in a couple weeks!
