Adios, Dora.....

Dora is starting to fall apart - she's gone from a Category 4 hurricane to a Cat. 1 in a little over 24 hours. At 3 PM today she was at 19.5N latitude - slightly north of us - and well on her way to possibly threaten the western side of Baja. Other than a little bit of wind and some high waves, Dora actually seemed to improve our weather this week. After she appeared on the scene, the monsoon trough responsible for last week's constant rain disappeared and we've now had 5 days of mostly sun and no rain. Gracias, Dora! It will be interesting to see what happens now that she's gone. July rainfall is up to 11.52 inches - 2008 record is 15.89 - so Dora may keep us from breaking that July record. Oh well.
