heat stroke

It's no secret the horribly hot weather we're having. I just wanted to mention how dangerous it can be. Had heat stroke. Stayed in my house, drank tons of water (as usual) and no appeasement. I was dizzy, walked like I'd had toooo many tequilas, got confused (no dumb blonde jokes), felt like vomiting, the works... I resorted to laying in my bed w/ 4 fans blasting and just couldn't get to feeling better. Plus, as my house is above the pueblo, there's a breeze from the ocean. To no avail. Finally, someone told me to put ice on my head. This began to 'turn the tide'. I continue to do this off and on during the day, routinely. And I've talked to the locals and they're suffering equally. A hard summer. Plus, when I went swimming just 2 days ago, the water temp was 90F !! It hardly felt good, only wet. Just checked today and it's equally hot. Take care and watch out for the elderly..... |
