Live in Victoria and Love to Salsa Dance?

My name is Nancy, Iím from Victoria and Iím the current Program Director for La Catalina Educational Foundation (LCEF). LCEF is a non-profit organization that provides free and highly subsidized educational programs to the community of La Manzanilla. We teach within and fundraise for public schools in La Manzanilla, offer after-school and evening classes for kids and adults, and run a childrenís summer camp. |
I have been in contact with a salsa group in Victoria who is involved with Club Salsa, a salsa night that happens twice a month at the Victoria Event Centre. They are happy to team up with us to make one of these event nights a fundraiser for LCEF.
To make that happen, Iím hoping to be able to get a team of Victoria people together to help out. Ideally we would have 8 people, each committed to a couple hours of volunteer work, and a team leader. The salsa nights happen on the first and third Friday of every month but no date is set as of yet (September 16 is a possibility).
The event will be organized entirely by Club Salsa, so the team would only be responsible for advance sales of 120 tickets. To make this a success we need people who are ready to connect with those who want to purchase tickets, as well as people spreading the word through their networks and contacts so we can sell all 120 tickets. The team leader would then be responsible for collecting the money from those who have made sales.
I have a poster which I can send out to those interested, and it would be great if you could forward it on to your contacts as well as print it out and put it up around town.
If you have any questions please donít hesitate to ask. I swear Iím not one of those people who just by talking to me you end up getting roped into some job you donít want to do!
Thanks and I hope to hear from you soon!
