Greetings from Northern California where the fog has socked in the Napa Valley for the third month in a row. Should be warm and toasty later in the day...but my, missing the warmth of Lamans.

I would like to say thanks to all the volunteers who have spent their hours in the bookstore this summer and say a good bye to George who was with us for many years. He was a great admirer of the book...read alot and helped us out in times of volunteer shortage. Know he is happy in the upstairs bookstore.

In talking with my local book vendor I hear that Kindles have cut into her sales by 25%. That's a huge amount. Now I am not a tech kinda gal...but I do see their advantage when travelling. So I have an idea. In order to keep the bookstore afloat and keep our students in school and other projects happening....I ask those of you coming down to bring us your books...even one or two would help...and have your Kindles too. If donations fall off too much we will have to look at different alternatives or possibly close our doors. So...please...think of Manos Ayudando this Fall when you pack your bags or load your car. Once again, we will not be taking hardback books as they just sell too slowly and take up space.

Enjoy the rest of the summer and see you soon at the beach, Stephanie
