Soon after I posted the 2.2" last night, it started up again. The total (including the 2.2") by this morning was 4.17" ! It mostly fell between 7:30PM and 1:30AM. That's tropical storm-level rainfall rates!

This is a new non-tropical-storm overnight record just a few days after Deanna reported the 3.5".

There was not much showing on the IR satellite loop last night; just a smallish yellow blob over us at the end of the rains.

The monsoon trough is still out there but not that close. The NHC doesn't mention any concerns for us.

In their summary, the CNA mentions this trough as favoring instability, waves, rains along the coasts of Guerrero, Michoacan, Colima and Jalisco. But then they don't mention us in their forecasts for 24, 48 hours, etc. http://smn.cna.gob.mx/boletin/discusion/discusion.html

So who knows what to expect in the near future? Not me!

In some ways it would be better to get these amounts of rain from a tropical storm: at least we'd see it coming...
